About Us

Cabincare was founded and is owned by Dennis Schermerhorn and his wife Jenny Fischer. Jenny has been a summer resident of Glidden Drive on and off since 1969. She and her brothers and sister have kept the family home and continue to spend many happy times there. Dennis has been coming to Door County since he was a child. Jenny and Dennis fled Chicago where Dennis had a home remodeling company and Jenny was an attorney who became a nurse.

As long time second home homeowners on Glidden Drive, we understand the challenges of protecting and caring for a home that is sometimes empty for weeks or months at a time. We also understand how precious your time is while you are here. Cabincare grew out of this understanding. We are now permanent residents of the Door County community and want to make your homeownership experience easier. We also hope to provide you with the peace of mind of knowing that we are always here and always watching!
